Privacy Policy
Important Notice: Glow is a cosmetic skincare app. It is not a medical service or medical device and does not provide medical diagnosis or treatment. Glow processes biometric face data only with your explicit, affirmative consent.
1. Scope
This Privacy Policy explains how Glow (“Glow,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, shares, stores, and deletes personal data when you use the app.
2. Data We Collect
- Account/profile data you provide (for example, name and age).
- Device and app diagnostics (for example, device identifiers, app version, usage events).
- Subscription status from app-store/payment providers.
- User content you submit (for example, onboarding and profile selections).
3. Biometric Data We Collect
When you use scan features, we may process biometric data, including:
- Face images/selfies submitted by you for analysis.
- Derived skin-analysis outputs (for example, scores and related metrics).
4. Biometric Consent and Release
Before first scan use, Glow requires explicit in-app consent to collect and process biometric face data for skincare analysis. If you do not consent, scan features are unavailable.
We keep a consent receipt record (including timestamp) tied to your account/device record for compliance and audit purposes.
5. How We Use Data
- Provide scan analysis and personalized cosmetic skincare suggestions.
- Provide history, trends, and routine features.
- Operate, secure, debug, and improve app performance.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
6. Data Sharing and Third-Party AI Services
We do not sell personal data.
We partner with and share data with processors only as needed to provide Glow, including:
- AILabTools, our third-party AI service partner for image analysis and metric generation.
- AI text processors for cosmetic suggestion generation.
- Cloud/database/subscription infrastructure providers.
To provide our core skin analysis feature, your photo is securely transmitted directly to our third-party AI service partner, AILabTools.
AILabTools publishes its file handling policy here: https://www.ailabtools.com/docs/file-storage-policy. According to that policy, AILabTools does not store or retain your uploaded photos after the analysis is complete. We confirm that all third parties we share data with, including AILabTools, process data under strict contractual restrictions and provide data protection equal to or greater than our own privacy standards.
7. Zero-Storage Position for Raw Images
- We do not store your photos on our servers. Raw scan image payloads are kept in local device storage temporarily for analysis and processed in memory.
- Glow does not intentionally persist raw face image files in its scan-history database or any server.
- We only store the resulting text/numerical data returned by AILabTools (such as acne severity, wrinkle counts, etc.) in our database to help you track your skincare progress over time.
8. Retention and Deletion
- Raw image payloads are deleted from active processing context after analysis completes.
- Derived metrics and results are retained only as long as reasonably necessary to operate Glow and provide requested features.
- We may retain data longer where required for legal, security, dispute-resolution, or contractual enforcement purposes.
- You may request deletion by contacting us at skinscan8@gmail.com.
9. Your Rights
Depending on your location (for example, California, Illinois, Virginia, EEA/UK), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal data and biometric-related records. Contact us to exercise your rights.
10. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Children
Glow is not directed to children under 13 (or higher age where required by local law). If you believe a child submitted data, contact us for deletion.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the updated date above.
